Christopher Scovell, DO

Christopher Scovell, DO is both an adult and child and adolescent-trained psychiatrist, specializing in mood disorders, trauma disorders, as well as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. Dr. Scovell earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology from Miami University, and then attended medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He went on to complete his residency in general psychiatry at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Hospital in Baltimore, MD, before completing his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospitals of Columbia and Cornell training program.

Dr. Scovell has co-led a workshop at a national conference related to trauma disorders in the setting of human trafficking, and has expertise in working with youth that have experienced multiple, chronic traumas as well as families with histories of multi-generational trauma. He was also recognized as the Resident House Staff Employee of the Month at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center during his time there.
