Why choose Advanced Psychiatric Associates?

Expertise

All of our psychiatrists have completed additional fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, community psychiatry, or addiction medicine. Our therapists have undergone specialized training in a variety of areas including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family-based therapy for eating disorders (FBT), and psychodynamic psychotherapy. This means that we are specialized in working with the complete range of age groups and conditions.

Additionally, we welcome more complex psychopharmacology cases and treatment-resistant conditions as we offer a range of the latest treatment options including, Vivitrol, Spravato, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).

Although Advanced Psychiatric Associates was founded in 2009, our providers bring decades of experience working in a variety of settings ranging from hospital-based to outpatient. In the process we have become knowledgeable and familiar with many treatment providers and programs in the area, allowing us to devise the best treatment plans possible utilizing local resources.

Collaboration

We work closely with all community-based providers involved in your care including schools, therapists, treatment programs, and other medical specialists. We welcome involved families who wish to participate in their loved one’s treatment. Within the practice, we work collaboratively as a team and discuss more complex cases on a regular basis in order to ensure that we are providing the highest quality care for our clients. And finally, as a group practice, we are able to arrange for an internal secondary consultation with other members of our team if necessary.

Convenience and Availability

We offer care in three convenient, relaxed, and private office settings in Hackensack, Glen Rock, and Florham Park. Additionally, we have telehealth capabilities that enable us to treat our clients who may not be able to physically come into our office.

While we are out-of-network with all insurances except Medicare, we are pleased to offer billing services for our clients. We run a full-service billing team that will submit claims to your insurance, thereby reducing your paperwork and hassle.

Our nurses are available for a variety of services including completing prior authorizations and providing office-based treatments (including Vivitrol, Spravato, and TMS).

Though we do not provide 24/7 psychiatric call coverage, our office is open for extended hours including most evenings and some weekends. As a larger group practice, we have providers available to address clinical concerns even when your provider may be out of the office or unavailable.
