
Leah Alcid, APN is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with training across the lifespan and over a decade of experience in behavioral health and nursing. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from St. Peter’s University and a Master of Arts in Psychology with a focus on personality and psychopathology from Teachers College – Columbia University. Early in her career, she worked as a Behavioral Intervention Specialist at The Young Adult Institute, where she supported individuals with developmental disabilities.
She went on to earn a Master’s in Nursing from Columbia University and worked as a staff nurse at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in both the medical/surgical telemetry unit and the adult emergency department. Leah later worked as a travel nurse across New York, New Jersey, and Ohio, gaining broad clinical experience—including most recently in medical detox and forensic units.
Leah recently earned her Master of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice from Fairleigh Dickinson University and completed her clinical training at Advanced Psychiatric Associates under the primary supervision of Dr. Sergio Yero. She has a strong interest in mood, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders, as well as advanced treatments such as Spravato and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). Leah values a holistic approach to care and recognizes the importance of both psychotherapy and psychotropic medication when appropriate. She is committed to providing compassionate, individualized, and culturally competent care that fosters healing and supports long-term mental wellness.
