Samah Ahmed, MD is dual board-certified in Adult Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry. She obtained her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University through an accelerated BS/MD program. Dr. Ahmed then completed general psychiatry residency at Summa Health/Northeast Ohio Medical University, where she also served as Chief Resident.
She went on to complete a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at the University of California San Diego.
Following medical training, Dr. Ahmed joined Thomas Jefferson University Hospital as a Clinical Assistant Professor. In this role, she provided outpatient psychiatric care to adult and geriatric patients and was actively involved in psychiatry resident education and supervision.
Dr. Ahmed specializes in the treatment of mood disorders, including depression, anxiety and bipolar disorders. She is also experienced in providing psychiatric care to patients with complex medical or neurological conditions. Dr. Ahmed practices evidence-based treatment and strives to create a warm, empathetic, and collaborative approach to patient care.
